Expansion of the warehouse system with box conveyors

A client who had previously installed a warehouse system with box conveyors and pallet distribution approached MPL Techma with a request to expand the system. The goal of the expansion was to increase warehouse capacity and improve logistics processes, particularly goods reception and dispatch. Below, we present the details of this project.

Warehouse system expansion – needs and challenges

The expansion of the warehouse system was a response to the client’s growing demand for capacity and operational efficiency. The aim was to optimize the entire storage process, from receiving goods to order dispatch, to enhance productivity and shorten order fulfillment times.

Need for increased warehouse capacity

The client recognized the necessity of increasing warehouse capacity to accommodate a larger number of pallets and boxes. To achieve this, additional pallet storage spaces were designed, allowing for better warehouse space management and more efficient goods reception. Modern storage systems enable better utilization of available space.

Optimization of goods reception and dispatch processes

Reducing the time required for goods reception and dispatch was a key objective of the warehouse system expansion. The new solutions aimed to automate these processes, increasing efficiency and minimizing errors in order fulfillment.

New solutions in the MPL Techma warehouse system

MPL Techma designed a range of innovative warehouse system solutions to optimize logistics processes. Below are the key improvements that were implemented.

Two-level box conveyor system

As part of the expansion, a two-level box conveyor system was introduced, enabling the internal transport of boxes across different warehouse levels. This solution significantly improved internal transport efficiency, allowing for the fast movement of goods within the warehouse without occupying valuable storage space. Conveyor-based storage systems enable automated transport.

Modification of the conveyor layout

Changes in the layout of box conveyors, including replacing belt conveyors with roller conveyors on one of the floors, allowed for the introduction of an effective buffering system. The new conveyor configuration facilitated internal transport, improving the fluidity and speed of warehouse processes.

Benefits of expanding the warehouse system

By implementing new solutions, the client gained numerous advantages that significantly improved the efficiency of their logistics operations.

Increased warehouse capacity and better space management

Thanks to the warehouse system expansion, the client gained additional pallet storage spaces, allowing for the storage of a larger quantity of goods in the same warehouse. Modern storage systems enable more efficient space utilization.

More efficient internal transport of goods

The two-level box conveyor system and modified roller conveyors enhanced the internal transport of goods. The automation of these processes improved warehouse management and the flow of goods.

Higher efficiency in goods reception and dispatch

The automation of goods reception and dispatch processes, along with the introduction of additional buffering spaces, enabled faster order fulfillment. This type of storage system minimizes errors and increases logistics efficiency.

Improved user safety

Modifications in the transport system, including moving the system outside the mezzanine, improved warehouse user safety. The optimization of box conveyors made transport processes more predictable and ergonomic.

Summary of the warehouse system expansion

The expansion of the warehouse system with box conveyors significantly improved warehouse operational efficiency. Increased capacity, optimized goods reception and dispatch, and improved internal transport made logistics processes more efficient and safer. MPL Techma provided modern storage systems tailored to the client’s individual needs, supporting their growth and enhancing their competitiveness in the market.
